Solemn ceremony for the shipment of 1.8 million doses of Artequick given by the Chinese government in aid to Comoros

On the morning of 25 June, Artepharm organized the ceremony for the shipment of 1.8 million doses of antimalarial drugs donated by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce in aid to Comoros. The ceremony was held at the company production base in Fengshun County, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province. That day, the drugs (called Artequick®), in total costing around 20 million Yuan, had been shipped from Fengshun county in Meizhou to Comoros.
Meizhou City Deputy Mayor, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Vice President, Meizhou City Food and Drug Administration Director, Fengshun county Committee Secretary, the Head of Fengshun county government, the president of Guangdong New South Group, representatives from various sectors, and the media attended this historic event.
Since 2007, Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has used Artequick® for prevention and treatment of malaria through FEMSE projects based on MDAs. The projects have been implemented in the islands of Mohéli and Anjouan in order to quickly control and eradicate the disease in these endemic regions. The results of the projects were outstanding and widely praised. Thousands of Comorians benefited from these initiatives. Consequently, the achievements caught the attention of the international community.
When the drugs donated by the Chinese government reach Comoros, the third phase of the FEMSE project will be carried out, and hopefully help the Comorian people rapidly get rid of malaria.
During the ceremony, the Deputy Mayor of Meizhou City, the Vice President of Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Head of Fengshun County respectively spoke on behalf of their representations. They commended Artepharm for the quality of the drugs produced and the successful shipment. They acknowledged that Artepharm is a company committed to its motto “endeavouring for a healthier mankind, and making greater contribution to humanity”. They underscored the importance of giving antimalarial drugs in aid to an African country. Considering all the health benefits that Africans are getting, it is undoubtedly a gesture that can boost exchange and partnership. In other words, it can substantially promote Chinese artemisinin products around the world.
This ceremony has been an occasion to reinforce Artepharm’s reputation for being a pioneer of China's bio-pharmaceutical products in the international market; and a leader in creating conditions to promote regional economic development.
